EASL Forum students to implement service projects

On January 17, the EASL Forum kicks off an exciting second semester. Building on the foundations established in the fall, this spring student participants will be designing and implementing their own service projects. In the process, they will utilize the servant leadership skills and principles explored thus far. Projects will focus on four main themes: campus-wide impact, community immersion, civic engagement, and servant leadership/ethics.

In addition to the group service projects, the spring semester will also include visits from community leaders in business, law, medicine, the arts, non-profits, and politics. Guests will share their experiences of combining service and leadership in their various vocational sectors. Training in project management, group facilitation, and collborative planning will also continue in the spring semester.

On a side note, EASL participants and alumni pitched in to give leader Mary Sue Brookshire a karaoke machine for the holidays. It has yet to make an appearance in the Center for Ethics’ main office.

The 2001-2002 EASL Forum will conclude with a closing retreat on April 13 and a final banquet on April 19.
