Final Choices, a documentary on end-of-life experiences by Georgians, produced by the Georgia Collaborative to Improve End of Life Care (of which the Center for Ethics is a lead partner) in conjunction with Georgia Public Television (GPTV), was honored with three awards.
This two-hour piece was originally aired as a companion piece to On Our Own Terms: Moyers on Dying in September 2000. In May Final Choices received a National Headliner Award and in June it received a Georgia Association of Broadcasters Award. The second half of the program, Final Choices: Changing a Culture, won an Emmy for Best Medical Program from the 2001 Southern Regional Emmy Awards on June 9.
The Final Choices documentary series was re-broadcast in August in conjunction with the national program On Our Own Terms: Moyers on Dying.
